It takes a trained eye to recognize the problem. Sometimes the problem is rooted in the character, or maybe it’s structure, OR the plot. Sometimes it’s multi-dimensional. Whatever the case may be, we CAN help get the kinks worked out !!

We are always enthusiastic to lend our film, and visual media expertise / depth of knowledge — in service of your ideas or current projects (price is p/h.)

Work with talents that understand Structure, Character, and Plot; And know how to edit (on paper or otherwise) with the decisiveness of a clear minded director.

Work with problem solvers. Solution oriented types, with high standards — who are highly self motivated, want to help you reach your creative goals

Here at STORY-BUNKER, our ethos dictates the quality of films we produce — We prioritize SUBTEXT (the unspoken emotional content of a given scene / sequence) heavy storytelling, rather than an overt / on the nose execution (of the material.)

Additionally, we only cast ACTORS WHO CAN ACTUALLY ACT. Without credible acting, the capacity of the audience to suspend disbelief shrinks immensely. Therefore, credible acting is a critical quality with any projects we choose to engage with.

One step further, we only entertain PRACTICAL VFX. The clear trend over the last 25 years in American Cinema is that low quality CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) creates a hollow feeling.

Combine that with 2D PLOTS, revolving around VISUAL SPECTACLE, which focus on protagonists engaging in little more than one pointless altercation after another — and you end up walking out of the theatre feeling like you were ripped off… Because, let’s be honest, you were !!!

Lastly, we believe that great movies should be built on a foundation of everybody involved simply serving the best possible telling of the tale— without any politics / propaganda injected into the story. We aren’t thrilled having to say it, any more than you want it hear it, but it must be said !!! If the goal is simply to tell the story, to the highest and best of everybody’s ability, that THAT in itself should be the goal, without anything further being added.

We “get”

movies…

Illustration of Steven Speilberg, with glasses and beard, operating a camera, surrounded by a flying spaceship, a friendly T-Rex, a shark with open mouth, and smiling E.T. -- with a raised finger emitting his heart light, against a yellow background.

Every brilliant idea that was ever displayed on the silver screen, began in the mind of ONE human being. From there it grew. Dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of other minds eventually made a contribution, but in the beginning — just one brain.. Like yours.. Like mine..

Really let that sink in.. The seed of greatness begins in the mind of one..

After it comes to fruition, it can morph into something so empowering, or mind bending that even the original creators themselves can’t believe it came to pass. One film can shift a whole society !!

Take the example of George Lucas (image to the right.) He writes the screenplay for what came to be “Star Wars” — inspired by the old “Buck Rogers” serials.

Not only did it become a cultural phenomenon at the time (1977,) but the now $10 billion dollar franchise is still going strong, half a century onward — all because one human being decided to believe in the power of their idea.

Do you believe in your idea ? If you REALLY do, call us, and we will help bring it to life !!

Young James Cameron, with long hair and a beard, wearing a striped shirt and a wristwatch, sitting indoors and smiling. He knows deep down he's going to create many of the 20th century's most iconic films.

Our goal at Story Bunker is to produce movies that harken back to a better time; An era when movies had the power to move, and change us. We do NOT make propaganda pieces. We don’t make politically infused films. This is raw filmmaking !! Stories that have the power to alter the way we live our lives, and shift the respective paths we take.

Exploring the human experience, and finding truth, on film — is the prize. Answering questions that perhaps have not yet been answered with the same degree of style, or perhaps even answering questions that have yet to be in general.

One of the greatest quotes ever spoken, in regard to the nature of film, came from a once larger than life filmmaking legend, who starred in “Butch Cassidy, And The Sundance Kid.”

“Story-telling was a way to see the world bigger than the one you were looking at, and the had great appeal for me” — Robert Redford

Movies are a way that so many of us learn (early on) about ourselves, and others, and life — without having to personally endure the suffering required to come into contact with the lesson (contained within the story. )

A well executed “cautionary tale” can, and has saved many men and women years of their lives !!

We here at STORY-BUNKER are determined to help you get the stories made that can inspire others for a lifetime.

In the aftermath of the 1986 release of Tony Scott’s original “Top Gun,” there was a 10% annual uptick, for Naval aviation enrollments. That's an additional 100k applicants per year !!

Film can turn turn children into fight pilots.. Scientists.. Entrepreneurs.. Soldiers.. Astronauts..Or filmmakers themselves.

The world of the future is shaped, to some extent, by films. All great pioneers were once children. Pioneers and children have something powerful in common. They both started as dreamers !!

The film world is currently navigating uncertain times. The last 20 years or so, with the invention of streaming services, social media, and so forth — movies have lost their way.

However, it ain’t over until the fat lady sings !! The renaissance is coming, and we want YOU to be part of it !! Come to us with your character driven story.

Remember, we only do practical VFX here at story-bunker, so if your script is rooted in visual spectacle, NO GO !! The story has to be about real human beings, having real human experiences… The character’s must learn and grow !! There must be substance !!

The story has to be just as much about what ISN’T being said (subtext,) and what ISN’T being shown — as it is about the things that are being said / shown.

Your tall tale HAS TO BE about MORE than a guy / girl, walking from one place to the next, getting in one pointless fist fight after another — while his / her bat cape flutters dramatically in the wind..

We don’t care about how cool their cape it, nor how shiny their space-ship.. We want to know WHY they are doing what they’re doing ? What “Dramatic Need” is driving so definitively in the direction they’re moving, that they can’t help themselves ? Is is redemption ? Salvation ? Love ? Martyr-dom ? Freedom ? Don’t tell us (exposition,) but rather show us !! The subtext (what isn’t being said) is where your true powers reside.

If you have a story in mind, that you truly believe needs to be seen and heard, reach out to us, and we can get the ball rolling !!

There is no time like the present to take the steps necessary, to become who / what you want to be.

I’v met countless “wannabe” filmmakers, who talk about it for a lifetime, but never pull the trigger. The very obvious, yet also elusive difference seems to be the willingness to simply take actionable steps towards it, every day, with consistency.

With that, we challenge you to reach out to us with you idea TODAY !! Not tomorrow.. Not next week.. Not when you scream out your NEW new years resolution, from the roof tops, next year..

No.. Right now.. If now now, when ? Let’s get your movie made !! Let’s get those ideas out of your head, and into the world, where they can do you justice !!
